About The Role
We are growing our marketing function at the CSA, this role will build and own top-of-funnel growth across both sides of the business: Membership, where our audience is individual chiefs of staff, and Talent, where our audience is client organizations. You will own our ideal customer profile and competitive insights, activate marketing channels and campaigns, drive registration and attendance across our calendar of events.
Reporting to the President, you will lead a team of two, keep paid and demand-generation work aligned with CSA's brand guidelines and overall narrative, and work closely with the Talent business development team on pipeline and lead handoff. You will execute within a marketing budget approved by the President. Title and level, Director or Senior Director, will be set based on the successful candidate's experience.
This will be a full-time, exempt role based in Denver, CO, working in a hybrid capacity with new hires committing to being onsite 2-3 days a week. The role carries meaningful travel for events and industry engagements.
Compensation
Base salary: $160,000-$185,000, depending on experience and level (Director or Senior Director), plus a performance-based bonus tied to lead-generation KPIs.

Objectives of this Role
Collaborate with the business team to uncover insights for developing marketing and branding strategies for existing and new products.
Oversee and grow the marketing function by identifying revenue opportunities among established clients and by securing new accounts.
Identify short- and long-term scheduling and resource needs, including development and management of the annual marketing budget, profit-and-loss projections, and expenditures.
Understand key performance metrics and tracking tools for market research, forecasts, competitor analyses, campaign results, and consumer trends, and translate results into actionable insights for the marketing team.
Leverage the latest marketing AI tools to build an AI-enabled marketing function.
Core Responsibilities
Lead development of marketing strategy by working closely with clients, managers, creatives, content providers, and distribution partners to create effective plans focused on growing the audience for our products and services.
Decide on channel activation strategy and manage execution (events, partnerships, sponsorships, etc.).
Spearhead the execution of marketing campaigns, including test and control group segmentation, testing, tracking, results reporting, analyses, and recommendations.
Manage conception, development, and implementation of marketing plans and strategy, product concepts, events, and promotional programs to drive customer interest and sales.
Conduct meetings regularly with the sales team to review pipeline, resolve challenges, and brainstorm possible solutions, and provide training to ensure the team is consistently performing above standard.
Attend conventions, conferences, and trade shows, preparing engaging displays and collateral as needed, and provide post-event reports and analysis.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead, manage, and develop a team of two: the Marketing and Events Associate and the Editorial Manager, setting clear priorities across editorial and campaign execution.
Own the marketing technology stack supporting demand generation, campaign tracking, and reporting.
Direct the work of external agencies and contractors supporting creative and paid media execution as needed.
Project & Budget Management
Bring project management discipline to campaigns, events, and cross-functional initiatives, managing several concurrent work streams to deadline and within an approved budget.
Report regularly to the President on marketing performance, budget, and team progress.
You May Be A Fit If
You have a track record driving top-of-funnel growth in a professional services or membership-based organization, ideally across both B2B and B2C customer segments.
You have owned ICP definition and competitive positioning work that directly informed go-to-market strategy.
You bring at least 6 years of marketing experience, including experience managing a team; candidates with 8+ years may be considered for the Senior Director level.
You bring strong project management discipline and can manage several concurrent campaigns, events, and stakeholders to deadline without losing quality.
You are comfortable running paid acquisition campaigns (Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads) and reading performance data to guide decisions on spend.
You have driven registration and attendance for a marquee industry event alongside a broader events calendar.
You lead with clarity and can set priorities across a small team, and collaborate naturally with people outside your own reporting line.
You are energized by building a new function from the ground up, and by creating the systems and processes as you go rather than inheriting them.
You are collaborative by nature and comfortable partnering closely with communications, sales, and executive stakeholders to align on messaging and priorities.
